Got Crawfish?

video

We have crawfish that live in our backyard and after it rains and the soil is JUST RIGHT Petey will try to dig after them. The little guy can fling some mud around the yard and he gets into it with all his might. I don't think he has ever caught one though, but maybe someday.

Lobster Boil

A couple of weeks ago we went to our friends house for a lobster boil. The boys pulled out the big burner and pot and we boiled red potatoes and corn on the cobb and then poured in the lobster. They didn't scream like I thought lobsters did, but the little bit of meat they held sure was yummy!

Good Will and Being on TV

So we saw a Good Will near our hotel and decided to go inside and check it out. While we were inside we saw a camera crew from the local news station and they were filming something. So we stepped inside and they came up and started filming us. So now we are celebrities!!!!

We found some good deals on some name brand stuff! But while we were there we found I think one of the outfits from Blades of Glory (never seen it but looks like something they would have worn from the previews) so of course we had to have Sophie try it one and man did she look good.

The River Walk

Then we made our way down to the River Walk and then over to the River Center Mall (I think that's what it is called) to find me a swimming suit so we can go back to the hotel and take a dip in the pool. I was kind-a freaked out because on the River Walk you walk on this narrow pathway with no guard rail. I was freaked that someone would bump into me and push me off into the murky, duck infested water!

The Alamo

So we made it into the Alamo. The grounds were really pretty with a lot of native plants. There was a cool fountain except the water looked like pea soup. We made our way around the lot and inside the Alamo. The bullet holes were visible and it was so amazing that the building was still standing since 1836.

San Antonio...Just the Girls!!

So me and my best bud Rosanna and her daughter Sophie drove down to San Antonio for a girls vacation away from the boys and school shopping (that's tomorrow at the outlets) We are staying in an awesome hotel within almost walking distance to the River Walk and the Alamo. We started out first going to the El Mercado (Mexican market) and looked at all the colorful clothes, cool tiles and Nacho Libre masks then we took the trolley down to the Alamo. That place was so cool although I though that the Alamo would be bigger and the walls higher. I was really shocked at what those men and women faced as the Mexican soldiers made their way over the walls probably without any effort and shot at them over the wall they really didn't have any chance to win but fought like they did.

We ate lunch outside the Alamo in a small park and saw this strange man feeding birds across the street. He was yelling at the people who were walking by "Keep walking you're scaring off my birds!!!" Later we walked by him and he was kind-a scary he had a gun strapped to his waist. Freaky!

Ina's Birthday and Awesome Friends

My friend Rosanna and I (and our husbands) were invited to our friend, Ina St. George's birthday bash. We had a blast swimming, eating, talking and wishing Ina a wonderful birthday. I love spending time with my awesome friend Rosanna. She is always there for me, supporting me, and I want to thank her for that!!

We were able to get to know a lot of great people in our ward; John and Sara (who just moved in with their cute little girls- and now I have a scrap booking buddy YEAH!!), Lenore and Sean visiting from Hawaii, the St. George's, Yolinda and Harold, and many others (If I forgot you it's only because I have a really bad memory sometimes :) not because I don't love you too!) We have been in the ward for 3 years now-and have finally found our little niche with the people of our ward and we feel home.
